Apa itu AWS S3 Directory Bucket 

AWS S3 Directory Bucket merupakan AWS S3 Bucket yang memiliki keunggulan yaitu latency yang lebih kecil dan throughput lebih besar dibandingkan dengan AWS S3 General Bucket. Dengan begitu lebih cocok digunakan untuk kebutuhan aplikasi dengan kebutuhan performa yang tinggi. 

 

Karakteristik Utama AWS S3 Directory Bucket 

  1. AWS S3 Bucket jenis ini menggunakan S3 storage class S3 Express One Zone yang memiliki performa dengan latency single-digit millisecond latency. Dan juga untuk S3 bucket jenis ini hanya terdapat di 1 Availability Zone (AZ) saja tidak seperti AWS S3 Standard yang menyebar disemua AZ pada 1 Region. 
  2. Format penamaan pada S3 bucket jenis ini  juga memiliki format penamaan khusus yang wajib memiliki suffix AZ pada s3 bucket ini. Dengan konvensi penamaan [nama-bucket]–[az-id]–x-s3 (contoh : madona–apse3-az1–x-s3) 
  3. Untuk setiap akun AWS terdapat limitasi maksimal 100 S3 Directory Bucket namun jika ada kebutuhan untuk memiliki lebih dari 100 bucket , dari customer dapat melakukan request untuk menambah kapasitas limit tersebut melakui support. 

 

Cara Membuat AWS S3 Directory Bucket 

Login kedalam AWS Console kemudian buka service S3 di https://console.aws.amazon.com/s3/ kemudian pada bagian side menu disebelah kiri pilih Directory Bucket.

Kemudian pilih AZ yang akan digunakan

Acknowledge untuk informasi bahwa data hanya disimpan di 1 AZ, dan masukkan nama dari bucket yang akan dibuat. Nanti akan muncul nama dari S3 bucket yang sudah mengandung suffix yang diperlukan untuk membuat AWS S3 Directory Bucket ini.

Kemudian masukkan tagging jika diperlukan. (contoh: dengan key business unit dan value developer)

Pilih metode enkripsi yang digunakan setelah itu klik Create bucket

  • Server-side encryption with Amazon S3 managed keys (SSE-S3) : pada pilihan ini sepenuhnya untuk yang membuat, mengatur, dan menyimpan kunci enkripsi diatur oleh Amazon S3. Enkripsi menggunakan pilihan ini gratis tidak ada tambahan biaya 
  • Server-side encryption with AWS Key Management Service keys (SSE-KMS): untuk penggunaan ini enkripsi menggunakan layanan KMS pada AWS. Untuk pengaturan enkripsi sepenuhnya diatur oleh pengguna untuk memperbolehkan siapa yang boleh melakukan enkripsi dan dekripsi. Penggunaan ini ada tambahan biaya layanan KMS 

 

Setelah bucket terbuat maka akan muncul pada tab Directory Bucket. Sehingga dari sini S3 Directory Bucket dapat digunakan
